| MR Collection call this a "superkit" but don't expect it to be anywhere near the same as Bosica, Feeling43, or even Tameo. While the kit comes with an open hood to display the engine, there's no chassis or suspension detail. I'd classify this as more of a "curbside plus." Note that the hood, door, and trunk do not have functional hinges out of the box. If you desire any of them to be displayed open, then they're open, with no option to close them. If you want working hinges, prepare to do some fabrication.
If you note the under-hood area you'll see that the engine is really more of a facade. It will probably look good, but I'd suggest making this one mounted to a base to keep the lack of bottom detail out of sight. |

The resin casing is smooth and mostly free from defects. I found a few pinholes but they were all out of site on the bottom of the car. There are a lot of resn plugs here and there though, which will need to be clipped off and sanded down; for example on the bottom of the engine casing and the bottom of the seats.
To help you mount the hood, door, and trunk in the open positoin, a brass rod has been cast into the resin. A nice touch since that's where the casting would need the most strength. Overall I'd compare the resin to something from Provence Moulage or Renaissance. |

| The biggest problem I see with this kit is the white metal casings. Wow, what a mess. Lots and lots and lots of flash to clean up, and even the the parts are not terribly defined..
There's not a lot of white metal, but what is there is pretty bad. I don't even have something to compare it to. I've worked with Tameo, MCM, BBR, and others, but have never seen anything this bad. I do have soem old John Day kits, but even they don't have this much flash. |

| And that brings us to the Photoetched parts. I think that MR must use a "generic" sheet for their Ferrari kits, as there's a lot of unidentifiable parts here. Worse, some parts, like the Ferrari scripts, are not even included, even though they're called out on the instructions. Fortunately, I have some in 1/43 in my spares box..
The headlight buckets and the tail pipe extensions are in turned aluminum, and the lenses are clear injection-molded plastic (as is the steering wheel!). A sheet of clear plastic is included to form the windows. Not shown are the wire wheels, which live up to MR's reputation, being very good. |

| This kit is a mixed bag. It's biggest advantage is that it a very hard-to-find subject. The 410SA is a beautiful car, and kits in any scale are not easy to find. With work, it should build into a decent model, but be prepared to work for it. The instructions are very basic line drawings on one double-sided sheet of paper, almost like a PM kit. The resin is pretty good, the white metal is wretched, and the PE incomplete.
I'd recommend the kit for the subject matter, but with a lot of caveats! |
